My journey with Audley began over six years ago. I started as a Marketing Executive, and am now responsible for our marketing activity in the UK. Two days are never the same for me at work, but the kinds of things I get involved in are magazine production, PR, email marketing, social media and events. Ask anyone why they enjoy working at Audley and ‘the people’ will more often than not be the answer you hear, but for me it’s also prevailing attitude of being outstanding. The end point is of course to create incredible travel experiences for our clients, but that same commitment of quality is applied across everything we do – from the highly-detailed brochures we produce through to the parties planned for employees by our social committee.
My most poignant travel memory to date is climbing Huayna Potosí, a 6,088m (19,974ft) mountain just outside La Paz in Bolivia. That seven-hour trek at high altitude is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done – but is always the first thing I tell people about my travels to that part of the world. For me, this illustrates travel is not just about the experiences themselves but the stories and images that you regale others with once you’re back home.
