The role  
As a Payroll Specialist you will ensure all staff payments are made accurately, promptly and in line with UK and US legislation. To enable staff, budget holders and managers to access funds appropriately. 

Key responsibilities include:  
  • Responsible for day-to-day payroll tasks and to undertake UK and US payroll monthly/bi-monthly submissions respectively working with outsourced payroll providers 
  • Responsible for day-to-day travel and expenses (T&E) tasks processed via the expenses system 
  • Help co-ordinate complex tasks within team to ensure there is excellent support to the business 
  • Provide support, advice and training to staff across Audley Travel at all levels 
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing changes to processes and procedures 
  • Project work as and when required 
  • To accurately check, process and apply policy guidelines to staff expense claims through our T&E system  
  • To manage interface issues in our T&E, HR and outsourced payroll systems and liaise with the software/service providers to assist in resolving issues and enhancing software 

About you  
You will need experience within a similar role within the financial sector, you will have strong analytical skills and be used to working to tight deadlines. 

Additional experience required:  
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines  
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility  
  • Able to interpret awards and legislation 
  • Understanding of GDPR and how to handle sensitive data 
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office 365), including specialist software 
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes i.e. tax, national insurance is preferable 
  • Knowledge of UK and US payroll processes and systems report writing is desirable
