The role 
As Group Accountant you will be responsible for undertaking and managing financial reporting activities, with a specific focus on holding companies and group reporting.  You will also be responsible for tax compliance and the integrity of the General Ledger.  You will work in a growing and transforming finance team where you will provide direction and coaching to the accountants, particularly with regards to financial accounting standards (IFRS) and statutory reporting. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Driving the timeliness and accuracy of statutory financial reporting by all group companies ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards
  • Lead the preparation of monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting for internal management reporting purposes, including undertaking consolidated balance sheet and P&L analytical reviews 
  • Being the primary point of contact together with the Group Financial Reporting Manager for external auditors 
  • Preparing annual financial statements for group entities in accordance with IFRS and support Accountants with the preparation of financial statements for their respective trading entities 
  • Support all aspects of group financing record keeping applying the highest levels of confidentiality within the company
  • Maintain a robust balance sheet, working in close collaboration with the AP, Treasury and Payroll teams
  • Support Treasury and internal Legal Counsel as required 
  • Work closely with tax advisors to ensure our returns are fully compliant with tax laws and regulations 
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Reporting Manager to develop a financial policy manual and controls framework

About you 
You will have previous experience of working in group multi-currency consolidations as well as external reporting under IFRS.  You will be practice qualified ACA or ACCA, with post qualification experience and have the ability to direct and develop a team of accountants. 

Additional experience required: 

  • Strong technical accounting background 
  • Experience of Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems 
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative 
  • High standards and attention to detail in all aspects of output 
  • High level of drive, commitment and self-motivation
