The role 
We are looking for an experienced Sales and People leader to be our Head of Sales and Service for  North America. The successful candidate will be based in Boston and will be responsible for achieving sales and gross profit targets by leading, engaging and motivating programme management teams.  They will be the champion instilling ‘best practice’ across all sales teams whilst identifying improvements and enhancements to the sales process, seeing through the implementation of change. If you’re interested, please read on.. 

About you 
You will have experience of leading and managing a large sales team (including sales management) with the travel or related industry.  You will have built a high performing sales team and will have operated successfully in a matrix management structure.  Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills are essential. 

As Head of Sales and Service, some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading a positive, competitive and supportive sales environment which promotes the Audley values, where excellence in sales and service is promoted, recognised and rewarded 
  • Being responsible for setting the Sales Strategy, Timing and Direction
  • Having responsibility for the complete sales journey e.g. client contact strategy, booking itineraries, booking pricing and deposit paid
  • Being responsible for enhancing the level of sales skills and techniques within Audley
  • Supporting the company's responsible tourism ethos ensuring that Audley leads the way
  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning and development within the sales team by setting clear and measurable objectives 

Experience which is essential for the role is: 

  • Experience of P&L accountability 
  • A strategic thinker and confident decision maker 
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Influencing, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization, time management and planning skills
  • Advanced analytical and IT skills 

Compensation and benefits 

  • Compensation will be commensurate with the experience level of the individual  
  • 20 days PTO, rising to 25 days with length of service (plus 9 Public Holidays)
