Operations Specialist – 6 month FTC

The role
As an Operations Specialist you will use your operational experience to support the Operations team and cross functional Country Re-Opening committee with all aspects of preparation and ongoing monitoring of Audley Travel destinations to support client departures across UK and North American markets.

Key responsibilities include:

Country re-opening
  • Maintenance of in-house travel guidelines for UK and US markets.
  • Monitor UK and US Government advice.
  • Ongoing monitoring of Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Department of State (DOS) and government traffic light systems.
  • Provide sales support through FAQs and answering questions from clients and sales team.
  • Roll out and monitoring of COVID testing process.
Duty Office
  • Operational support including client location reporting, supporting sales team and client queries, providing training, useful tools and Q&A documents for sales teams.
  • Update training manuals/e-learning modules in our online training tool, Compass.
  • Review supplier contact details, emergency contacts etc.
  • Improve tools and guides, e.g. templates and scenarios.
  • Manage Duty Office rota.
  • Incident management and re-opening support for sales.
  • Develop crisis and incident related in-house training, including simulation exercises.
Health & Safety
  • Support H&S team on audit and actions
About you
You will have excellent knowledge of the travel industry, ideally gained from a tailor-made, specialist tour operator, a global supplier or Destination Management Company (DMC). You will have previous experience of working within an risk management or operational role and experience of working in or with a travel industry duty or incident management function.

Additional experience required:
  • Understanding of monitoring and interpreting government advisories in source market and destination.
  • Confident communicating with a wide cross-section of people both within the business and throughout our supplier base.
  • Highly organised, results orientated and enjoys seeing tasks through to completion.
