The role
This is a great opportunity for an accomplished, driven Test and Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to make sure our Technology products, that support the full range of business functions are delivered into live service performing as specified. In the role you’ll ensure that Audley’s test capability has appropriately skilled people, resources (e.g. data, environments), processes for planning (e.g. test strategies, coverage, defect management) and executing all stages of the test cycle, and technologies to optimise efficiency, scale and accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Define, develop and deliver Audley’s overall capability for Quality Assurance and Testing.
  • Develop Audley’s approach to testing, a roadmap for capability development to assure an efficient, high quality service that meets evolving needs. Stay abreast of industry testing techniques and tools.
  • Lead and develop the Test & QA team. Manage the team to best meet the demands of the various projects. Define the teams’ objectives and personal development plans ensuring they have the right skills to provide the capabilities required.
  • Develop the processes and methods to define test plans, plan capacity, plan resources, defect management and complete acceptance.
  • Lead the adoption of test automation by identifying the opportunities for automation, implementing the appropriate tools, and leveraging the opportunity of automation to increase quality through increased test coverage, accuracy, etc.
  • Work closely with project teams to define the test strategy, develop test plans, resource plans, engage with business users to define and execute User Acceptance and manage the defect resolution process.
  • Engage with suppliers to integrate supplier’s QA processes with Audley’s overall test and acceptance needs.
  • Run retrospectives and continuous improvement exercises to improve efficacy of tests and efficiency of the test workflow.
  • On some occasions, by agreement, the project needs might require test cycles out of hours
About you
You’ll have the ability to lead within a multi-disciplined team and have a good understanding of everyone’s needs to achieve the desired outcome. You’ll be curious, have a thirst for knowledge and adoption of new testing capabilities, ways-of-working and continuous improvement.

Other experience required:
  • Extensive experience of a broad range of software testing techniques
  • Significant experience of leading software testing for successful projects
  • Prior experience with test automation tools to create automated test scripts and execute runners. SpecFlow, Postman, Selenium preferred but equivalent tools acceptable.
  • Competent in Behavioural Driven Design approach and the Agile development methodology
  • Created end-to-end business scenario tests for full process flows to support UAT
  • Experience of Microsoft Azure DevOps Test Plans (or similar tool) to author and manage test libraries, define tests and execute through test runners.
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • People management, development and coaching skills.
  • Ability to represent and manage Audley Travel’s quality control requirements with suppliers.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Seeks out opportunity to add value to the team/department.
  • Ability to self-educate and learn new test technologies and methods.
  • Desire to own issues and see through to resolution.
