Lead Tech Platform Engineer, London;Witney

Salary: Dependent on Experience

We are undertaking a major business transformation, underpinned by significant investment in Technology, and the role represents an exciting opportunity to join the Technology team in either the Witney office in Oxfordshire, or the Shepherd's Bush office in London and as a Lead Tech Platform Engineer you will:

  • Create and deliver the strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies and services in the Tech Platforms area of responsibility, ensuring they are future proofed and that the organisation derives maximum value from investment in technologies
  • Commercially responsible for P&L performance and own the operational relationships with suppliers ensuring services and products are delivered and aligned to industry best practice, regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Support the Head of Tech Platforms to ensure there is continuous improvement to the service catalogue, future designs and service operability
  • Be part of a team to provide day to day support for the on-premise and hosted technologies and services in the Tech Platforms area of responsibility
  • Develop forward looking strategic roadmaps that establish clear technical direction between Tech Plat-forms activities and business objectives
  • Be involved with Operations Management, Business & Commercial Management, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity and Security Management
To succeed in this role, it is essential you can demonstrate you have:
  • Experience of providing level 2 and 3 support to end users across an enterprise environment
  • Extensive experience at leading change
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate products and experience performing vendor analysis and providing technology recommendations
  • Effective communication with third party vendors and build strong relationships to maximise operational and commercial benefits
  • Ability to interact with users to evaluate and solve problems and experience working across all areas of Technology to support a 24x7 environment
What we are looking for:
  • ITIL Practitioner Certification or equivalent experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in migrating and administering production services in a Microsoft Azure environment
  • Have a passion for self development and to proactively improve knowledge and learn from experiences 
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to build and influence key relationships within the business

Demonstrated ability to create and deliver strategic technical designs and roadmaps across multiple technologies including:
  • Active Directory
  • End User Compute
  • Microsoft 365
  • Networking
  • Public Cloud - Microsoft Azure
  • Windows 10 and associated tooling
In addition to the above excellent hands-on delivery of the following technologies and services is required:
  • Active Directory
  • Azure Cloud Services
  • Exchange Online administration
  • Hardware management including: servers, SAN’s, networking infrastructure & end user devices
  • Microsoft 365 with compliance & security modules 
  • Powershell Scripting
  • Windows Server VDI deployment and maintenance
  • VMware
Administration of the following is desirable:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
