Life is good at Audley or else what's the point?
The more our people keep their spirit and their individuality, the more fulfilled they are, the better they’ll work. That doesn’t mean it’s chaos or a free-for-all here - it means it’s creative, varied, challenging as well as businesslike and thoroughly focused. We care about getting results, we work hard and we pride ourselves on being the best in the business, but have a good time together too.
The Audley attitude to our people is part and parcel of our belief in responsible but enjoyable travel.
We’ve grown in number over the past couple of years, but we make every effort to preserve the atmosphere of a small, close-knit company.
Rewards
The financial rewards of working at Audley are exceptionally good within the travel industry. But the money is only one aspect of why we enjoy working here.
We believe it’s essential that everyone who works here experiences the Audley product. In other words, you get to go on a bespoke travel itinerary as part of your job, whether or not you’re a country specialist. If you are a country specialist, you’ll spend roughly a month a year in your territory, experiencing what you’ll sell your clients. It can be hard work but it’s an amazing experience too.
We have a Childcare Voucher Scheme and have recently implemented the ‘Cycle to Work’ Scheme.
What we get up to when we’re not working
Here at our converted mill we’ve got room to stretch, and we make the most of that luxury. We’re always looking for ways to improve services and facilities for our employees and we’ve recently invested in a self-managed on-site gym. There are weekly keep fit classes, paid for by Audley.
We have several employee ‘chill out’ areas to enable people to get away from their desks at lunchtime – there is a wall mounted flat screen TV, CD player and cooking facilities (microwaves). These facilities, along with free organic fruit and fruit juice and even a wellie store for lunchtime walks, have been provided in direct response to requests from the Staff Forum, which gives a voice to everyone who works here. A masseuse visits the offices most weeks to give lunchtime back and head massages.
There’s a social committee that works hard to get us all relaxing and partying as often as possible. A summer party, a Christmas party, trips to Alton Towers, paintballing, punting, a wine club, barbecues at lunchtimes... there’s a lot going on. We’ve even got a flourishing allotment, and everyone’s welcome to join in.
This is just a quick sketch of why life at Audley has so much to offer. You really can get as much out of it as you want.
